Diwan: Journal of Arabic Language and Literature Vol. 10, No. 2, the January-June 2019 Edition begins with articles written by Maksum and Taftiati. The authors examine the meaning of the words Auliya’ in the Qur’an from the perspective of semantic componential analysis. The second article is written by Insanul Hasan which studies the Arabic sentences inform the perspective of structural syntax theory. The third article composed by Apriwanto focuses on the analysis of socio-cultural phenomena in Arabic.
The fourth article is contributed by Reflinaldi, Syofyan Hadi and Ahmad Busyrowi. The authors analyze the typology of eastern action toward western hegemony in the drama script of Abthal Al-Yarmuk by using Occidentalism analysis. The fifth article is written by Meliza Budiarti, observing the strategy for countering the problems in Arabic translation among students. The next article highlights the politeness strategy used by students in the Arabic Language and Literature Department of UIN Imam Bonjol Padang, written by Adjie Prasetio Utama. The last article is the text edition of Shiyam Ramadan script contributed by Restati Yelni.

Diwan: Journal of Arabic Language and Literature Vol. 10, No. 20, the July-December 2018 Edition begins with articles written by Muhammad Isya. The author reviews Robert Escarpit's sociology of literature perspective in seeing the reality presented by writers in literary works. The second article explores the discourse of the Sunni-Syi’ah conflict during the Syrian conflict. The third article composed by Reflinaldi focuses on analysis at the level of discourse movements in the Syrian and Indonesian mass media.
The fourth article is also about the Syrian conflict. Erizal Ilyas and the student research team examine the coverage of the border closure for Syrian refugees published in the Syrian News and Enab Baladi mass media. Unlike the previous article, this article observes the news from the perspective of critical discourse analysis. The fifth article is written by Ahmad Busyrowi and the student research team. The article dissects the phenomenon of expressive speech acts in Umm Kulthum song lyrics. Nurul Asqi et al, try to see the neological phenomena of Arabic in the current social context in the next article. The authors uncover the social phenomena which resulting in the emergence of new concepts and terms in Arabic. This edition is closed by an article written by Yasmin Azizi, et al. The paper highlights the differences in the construction of Arabic and Indonesian proverbs in the cultural context that underlies their emergence.

The author explores the role of the Arab poets in the period of Muhammad during the Battle of Badr. The next article is written by Muhammad Isya introduces a new theoretical approach in Arabic literature.
