Diwan: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra Arab is a medium of publication for academic articles and research in Arabic language and literature published by The Arabic Language and Literature Department, Faculty of Adab and Humaniora, Imam Bonjol State Islamic University Padang. Diwan encompasses articles applying distinctive theories and approaches in examining Arabic language and literature phenomena.

Diwan: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra Arab firstly published in June 2009. In its first years of publication (2009-2011), Diwan inlcuded articles from lecturers in the Arabic Language and Literature Department, Faculty of Adab dan Humaniora, Imam Bonjol State Islamic University Padang. Entering its fourth year (2012), Diwan succesfully extended its scope to a national journal and included articles from scholars and practitioners in Indonesia.

On June 5 2017, Diwan: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra Arab published its online edition and began to apply the Open Journal System (OJS). Furthermore, Diwan has been a medium of publication for collaborative research between lecturers and students. Since June 2019 edition, Diwan has been completely published online. Diwan obtained national accreditation SINTA 5 in the same year. Diwan maintained the ranking and extended it through reaccreditation in 2022.

Starting from February 10, 2025, Diwan began collaborating with Perkumpulan Pengkaji Bahasa dan Sastra Arab Lisaniya Adabiya. This management collaboration was carried out to improve the quality of publications in an effort to achieve Diwan's vision as a scientific journal with a national and international reputation.
