Author Guidelines

GENERAL GUIDELINES

Shaut Al-Maktabah: Jurnal Perpustakaan, Arsip dan Dokumentasi publishes manuscripts in the fields of Library Science, Archival Science, Documentation, and Information Studies. The journal accepts research articles, literature reviews, and case studies.

Submitted manuscripts must be original, not previously published, nor under review by another journal. Articles should be written in Indonesian or English, formatted in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx), and contain 3,000–5,000 words.

To support consistency and scholarly quality, authors are encouraged to use:

  • Mendeley or Zotero for citation management.

  • High-resolution images and properly formatted tables and figures.

ARTICLE TEMPLATE

  • Page format: A4, 1.5 line spacing, 2.5 cm margins on all sides.

  • Font: Times New Roman, size 11 (unless stated otherwise).

  • All pages numbered at the bottom-right corner.

Structure:

  1. Title Page: Article title, author name(s), affiliation(s), and corresponding email.

  2. Abstract: Maximum 300 words, in English and Indonesian, without structured headings.

  3. Keywords: 3–7 words or phrases, in English.

  4. Main Sections:

    • Introduction

    • Literature Review

    • Method

    • Results and Discussion

    • Conclusion

    • References

TITLE AND AUTHORSHIP

  • Title: Capitalize the first letter of each major word (Title Case), max 15 words, font Arial 14 pt, bold, centered.

  • Authors: Full name(s), without academic titles, listed under the title in Times New Roman 11.

  • Affiliation(s): Listed below author names, Times New Roman 10.5, numbered in superscript.

ABSTRACT

  • Written in English (first) and Indonesian (second).

  • One paragraph, unstructured (no "Background", "Method", etc.).

  • Font: Times New Roman 10 pt, single-spaced.

  • Maximum 300 words.

  • No citations or footnotes.

  • Followed by 3–7 keywords.

MANUSCRIPT ORGANIZATION

INTRODUCTION

Explains the research background, importance, novelty, research gap, objectives, and rationale.

LITERATURE REVIEW

Covers relevant theories, prior research, and scientific perspectives. Primary and recent sources (within the last 10 years) are recommended.

METHOD

Describes data sources, time of data collection, population and sample, data collection and analysis techniques. Presented in paragraph form (max. 3 paragraphs).

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

Results: Analyzed data in the form of tables, figures, or visuals.
Discussion: Interpretation of results based on relevant theories, explaining implications and contributions.

CONCLUSION

Summarizes key findings and their impact. May include suggestions for future research.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS (optional)

Recognize individuals or institutions who contributed to the research.

TABLES & FIGURES

  • Tables: Title above the table; Figures: Caption below.

  • Number sequentially (Table 1, Figure 1, etc.).

  • Must be referenced in the text.

  • Use high-resolution images.

REFERENCES

  • Use APA 7th Edition style.

  • Use Zotero or Mendeley for reference formatting.

  • Minimum 10 references, with 80% from primary sources (journals).

  • Reference list sorted alphabetically.

  • Only include cited sources.
