This study explores the digitization of Islamic knowledge in libraries as a strategic imperative for preserving intellectual heritage while responding to the challenges of globalization. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study analyzes the role of libraries as inclusive and adaptive information centers. The results show that digitizing collections ranging from ancient manuscripts to contemporary literature not only ensures the physical preservation of manuscripts but also expands global accessibility beyond the boundaries of space and time. Furthermore, this initiative contributes significantly to building a global society based on knowledge and oriented towards the sustainability of Islamic culture in the digital era.
Adilla Ariska Aina Sri Nova Fitri Ramadhani Fauziah Rahma Fitri Kasmifa Sari Septevan Nanda Yudisman Copyright (c) 2026 International Conference on Islamic Civilization & Culture 2026-09-25 2026-09-25 3 1 Literasi informasi Tradisi Ngatok Behou Sulung Pase Masyarakat Hamparan Rawang, Kota Sungai Penuh, Jambi https://rjfahuinib.org/index.php/icc/article/view/3152
This research is motivated by the critical need to preserve local traditions amid modern developments affecting community life. The Ngatok behou sulung pase tradition of the Hamparan Rawang community involves delivering rice or basic food items to family members, tengganai (extended family elders), and traditional leaders ahead of Ramadan as a form of friendship (silaturahmi), respect, and sociocultural reinforcement. This study aims to analyze the community's literacy capabilities regarding access, evaluation, and application of the Ngatok behou sulung pase tradition. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation, with subjects selected via purposive sampling and analysed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the community's ability to access literacy—specifically in defining the tradition's needs—is categorised as good, as most residents are familiar with the tradition, albeit primarily on a general level rather than a deep understanding of its values and meanings. Evaluation literacy is also rated good, with community members actively assessing and reviewing acquired information. Furthermore, literacy usage is categorised as moderately good, as residents effectively communicate and disseminate information regarding the tradition. Ultimately, this study underscores that ancestral traditions must be continuously preserved to maintain cultural identity in modern times.
Fitri Wahyuni Zarfina Yenti Fridinanti Yusufhin Copyright (c) 2026 International Conference on Islamic Civilization & Culture 2026-09-25 2026-09-25 3 1 Model for Utilizing Maktabah Syamilah for Digital Hadith Searching at UIN Imam Bonjol Padang https://rjfahuinib.org/index.php/icc/article/view/3148
The development of digital technology has significantly influenced hadith studies through the use of digital applications that facilitate the process of searching and verifying hadith sources. One of the applications widely utilized in Islamic studies is Maktabah Syamilah. However, the use of this application at UIN Imam Bonjol Padang has not been fully implemented in a systematic and methodological manner, indicating the need for a more structured model of digital hadith retrieval. This study aims to analyze the model of utilizing Maktabah Syamilah in digital hadith retrieval within the academic environment. The research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving students and lecturers who use Maktabah Syamilah. The data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal three main models in the utilization of Maktabah Syamilah, namely the exploratory model for initial hadith searches, the verificative model for validating hadith sources, and the integrative model that combines digital technology with classical Islamic texts. The study shows that the use of Maktabah Syamilah can improve the efficiency, speed, and accuracy of hadith retrieval when supported by an adequate understanding of hadith methodology. This study concludes that the integration of digital technology and classical methods constitutes an ideal approach in the development of contemporary hadith studies.
Nasrul Makdis Zulfitri Rido Jamallius Lusi Ismail Amelia Yuniati Copyright (c) 2026 International Conference on Islamic Civilization & Culture 2026-09-25 2026-09-25 3 1
