Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has significantly influenced information management and access, including the administration of digital libraries in higher education institutions. The implementation of digital libraries has predominantly emphasized technological advancement and service efficiency, while ethical and value-based dimensions, particularly those rooted in Islamic teachings, have not been systematically integrated. This study aims to examine the management of digital libraries in higher education through the integration of Islamic values using a literature review approach. The research employed a qualitative method through an extensive review of books, scholarly journals, and relevant documents published within the last five to ten years. The findings indicate that Islamic values such as amanah (trustworthiness), siddiq (truthfulness), adl (justice), and ihsan (excellence) possess strong relevance to digital library management, particularly in data governance, information services, collection development, copyright protection, and information ethics. The integration of these values contributes to the development of a more inclusive, accountable, and user-oriented digital library system. In addition to enhancing the quality of information services, the implementation of Islamic values also supports the formation of an ethical academic culture within higher education institutions. This study offers a conceptual contribution in the form of a model for integrating Islamic values into digital library management as an effort to establish sustainable and value-based information systems.
